In Vietnam, the ceremony of Vietnam – Portugal joint stamp issue will be held at 8:00 am on July 1
st at Sông Hoài Square (1 Cao Hồng Lãnh, Hội An city). Hội An citizens as well as tourists will have free access to the exhibit of postage stamps lasting from July 1
st to 3
rd, 2016.
Hội An city was chosen as the place to release this special stamp collection because when being an international trading port in the sixteenth century, Hội An became a destination of most of trading ships from Portugal. The Portugese traders came and left here their impression on the culture and architecture. Therefore, Hội An is expected to be an ideal place for this significant ceremony.
