A call to attend the special ceremony of Vietnam - Portugal joint stamp issue

On the occasion of 500th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship, Ministry of Information and Communications (Vietnam) in cooperation with Portugal will hold the special ceremony of Vietnam – Portugal joint stamp issue in Lisbon (Portugal) and Hội An (Vietnam) at the same time.
In Vietnam, the ceremony of Vietnam – Portugal joint stamp issue will be held at 8:00 am on July 1st at Sông Hoài Square (1 Cao Hồng Lãnh, Hội An city). Hội An citizens as well as tourists will have free access to the exhibit of postage stamps lasting from July 1st to 3rd, 2016.
Hội An city was chosen as the place to release this special stamp collection because when being an international trading port in the sixteenth century, Hội An became a destination of most of trading ships from Portugal. The Portugese traders came and left here their impression on the culture and architecture. Therefore, Hội An is expected to be an ideal place for this significant ceremony.
