Quang Nam International Food Festival 2023 to take place from 31st August - 3rd September 2023

Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee announced on 4th July 2023 of the organisation of Quang Nam International Food Festival 2023 under the theme “The land of Quang Nam with the culinary quintessence all over the world”. The Festival is scheduled to take place on 31st August to 3rd September, at An Hoi Statue Garden, Hoi An City.

The annual event "Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange " will take place at Hội An ancient town , F-rom Aug.23 to Aug.25, 2013. The festival is in the frame of “Vietnam – Japan Friendship Year” as well as the 40th anniversary of Vietnam and Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2013).

Like many festivals in Hoi An, the Long Chu Festival is steeped as much in cultural belief as it in religion. Long Chu festival is celebrated on the 15th of the seventh and eighth lunar month, when the new season is coming and the old one is leaving, and the entire climat is uncertain. It is held in the summer months, when plagues and other types of epidemics are most likely to break out in the fishing villages. As a result, religious ceremonies are carried out to fight the diseases.

This festival falls on the 12th day of the second month of the lunar calendar, and is celebrated in Lady Thu Bon’s Palace in Duy Tan commune, Duy Xuyen district. It is a traditional festival of the ancient Cham Pa people that was inherited and is still kept nowadays.
