Hoi An participates in UNESCO's Creative Cities Network Annual Conference in Australia

The UNESCO Creative Cities of Crafts and Folk Art Sub-Network Meeting is being held in Ballarat city, Australia from May 24 - 26, 2024. On the first day, a representative from Hội An city participated and gave a speech introducing the city and its creative field.

The Annual Meeting, themed “The Synergy of Education and Culture for Sustainable Futures”, provides a chance for member cities to exchange and share their expertise, experience and best practices.
The participation and the speech presentation by the city's representative received a positive response from international delegates.
During this business trip, the city of Hoi An also organizes the program "Hoi An Cultural Days in Melbourne" with activities promoting and introducing the tourism characteristics of Hoi An; artistic performances; exhibitions of handmade ceramic, bamboo, wood products, lanterns; culinary experiences... in the city of Melbourne.

In addition to the activities mentioned above, the leaders of Hoi An city have welcomed and met with representatives from the city of Melbourne to discuss cooperation, promote cultural exchange, and connect tourism to the Australian market. Furthermore, the city has also engaged with event organizing units, associations, youth business clubs, and travel agencies that will serve as bridges for future activities.

Hoi An's international activities and cultural exchanges have been expanding recently ever since becoming a member of the global Creative Cities Network. Through this event, there is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and development between Vietnam and Australia in general, Hoi An and Melbourne in particular. By introducing valuable cultural destinations, it is hoped that Hoi An will attract Australian tourists to visit in the near future.
