From August 4 to 6, 2023, the 19th “Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange” will be held by Hội An city, the Consulate General of Japan in Đà Nẵng, and Japanese units and localities in Hội An Ancient Town; in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023), as well as continue to strengthen the exchange and cooperation relationship between Hội An and Japan.

The Japanese Culture Gallery is located at 06 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, far from Japanese Covered Bridge about 30m. According to many reliable sources, this area was originally quarter of Japanese merchants with busy trading activities in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. It was also was the place of cultural exchange between Hoi An, Vietnam and Japan.

South Korean violin artist JMI KO, singers Seok Hun, Han Sara, and a K-pop dance troupe will perform in Hội An from April 9 to 11 during the Korean Culture Day event, an annual cultural exchange between South Korea and the central province of Quảng Nam.

Hội An-Japan Cultural Exchange has been an annual event since 2003.
