After 20 years of being recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage Sites, Hội An Ancient Town and Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary have become “a typical example” in dignifying the role of community in preservation and promotion of heritage values.

On December 4, 1999 which was a major turning point for Quảng Nam province in the field of culture because Hội An Ancient Town and Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary were recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage Sites at the same time. 20 years of owning World Cultural Heritage Sites, government and people of Quảng Nam province have been striving to preserve and promote the value of these heritage sites.
