The event “Hoi An–Japan Festival” is periodically organized in the Hoi An Ancient town every August. This year 2012, “the Hoi An–Japan Festival X” f-rom 24 to 26 August forms part of the activities of the National Tourism Year “Heritage Tourism 2012” .

In March 2011 INTERKULTUR organized the first ever International Choir Competition in Vietnam's history in the city of Hoi An. After the big success of this first edition Hoi An authorities decided to regularly continue the cooperation by biannually hosting the event. After the 2nd Vietnam International Choir Competition is hosted in Hue city in December 2012, the event will now come back to Hoi An in 2013.
