Since 2014, Hội An city and Szentendre city have formally established a relationship based on the spirit of solidarity, friendship, equality and mutual respect. With great efforts made by both sides to overcome geographical distance and cultural differences, the relationship between the two cities grows stronger with each passing year.

Hoi An is a historic city, recognized as “the most charming city in Vietnam” and “the best city in the world 2019” by Travel and Leisure Magazine. It was an old merchant city and a busy commercial port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Hoi An was developed by Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese merchants during its golden years. Nicknamed the City of Lanterns, it dazzles every visitor with the romantic ambiance of its historic yellow houses, picturesque narrow alleys, colorful boats lit by multicolored lanterns and temples. The city is also on the list of the cultural heritage of Unesco, and one of the most visited places in Vietnam.

In order to strengthen the relationship between Hội An city (Vietnam) and Andong City(Korea), in cooperation with Andong City and International Mask Arts and Culture Organization (IMACO), Hội An City will hold “Andong Cultural Day in Hội An" from November 14th to 16th, 2017.

Its opening ceremony is going to be held at 8:00pm on June 9th, 2017 at the monument of Vietnamese Heroic Mother in Tam Ky city; and the closing ceremony on June 14th in Hoian city.
