The “Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange” is held annually in August in Hội An city to strengthen the friendly relationship and expand cooperation between Hội An and Japan, as well as promote Hội An's World Cultural Heritage to domestic and international friends.

From August 4 to 6, 2023, the 19th “Hội An - Japan Cultural Exchange” will be held by Hội An city, the Consulate General of Japan in Đà Nẵng, and Japanese units and localities in Hội An Ancient Town; in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023), as well as continue to strengthen the exchange and cooperation relationship between Hội An and Japan.

The year of 2018 celebrates the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2018), which has provided enduring peace and cooperation between the two countries and its peoples. To celebrate this symbolic year and the rich history of the two cultures, U Café Hoi An along with the People’s Committee of Hoi An city will organize an exchange concert by the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet.
