Japan Philharmonic Orchestra is a leading orchestra of Japan based in Tokyo, performing with world-renowned musicians such as Đặng Thái Sơn (7th April, 2018), and is recognised for social contributions for promoting culture and arts in educational and social development. On this tour to Hoi An, the musicians Masakazu Saito, Shunichiro Sato, Yumiko Nakagawe, Tetsuya Osawa will bring audiences familiar Vietnamese and Japanese folk melodies. The quartet will have an exchange concert for children at U Café Hoi An (120 Huyen Tran Cong Chua street) at 2:00PM on June 28th and the official concert will take place on the same day at 7:30PM at Japanese Bridge Area, Hoi An Ancient Town.
Mrs. Reiko Usuda, Director of Tani Toshiko Foundation – owner of U Café, in cooperation with Japanese Embassy and Japanese organizations organizes this special event. Reiko Usuda has been awarded both in Vietnam and Japan for social contributions. Since 2003, Mrs Reiko has implemented many projects: donating 13,000 bicycles for children and families in financial hardships in Da Nang and Quang Nam, sustainable development in Vietnam, organizing vocational training and employment.
The concerts in Hoi An form a part of the JPO’s first visit to Vietnam (25th – 29th June, 2018). This series of exchange concerts have been approved as official events of the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Japan with the supports of Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and Japan Bussiness Association in Danang.
