This year’s program is rich, community-oriented, and designed to highlight the cultural depth of Hội An. The celebration begins with a series of communications and themed displays across the Ancient Town, promoting the outstanding universal value of the heritage site. A number of specialized activities will take place throughout the period, contributing to the dissemination of historical, architectural, and documentary heritage research. Highlights include the 2025 Annual Conference of the Vietnam World Heritage Club (22 November); the exhibition “Rubbings of Stone Inscriptions in Hội An - Traces of Time” at Hội An Communal House (23 November - 05 December); the launch of the books “Hội An Gazetteer - Ecology Volume” and “Architectural Heritage of Hội An Ancient Town” (24 November); and the recognition ceremony and photo exhibition for the newly designated city-level historical site “Faifo Prison” (01 December).

A diverse range of immersive cultural experiences also awaits visitors: Japanese cultural activities at the Japanese Culture Gallery (23 November & 04 December); and the themed museum tour “Journey of Discovery - Touching the Heritage” (01 - 03 December), offering interactive programs that revive traditional crafts, daily life, and ceramic art. The festive atmosphere continues with community sporting events, including the running race “For the World Cultural Heritage of Hội An, 2025” (30 November) and the 9th “Heritage Cup” Seven-a-Side Football Tournament (23 November - 02 December).
On 04 December, the Conference on the Preservation and Promotion of Hội An Ancient Town’s World Heritage Values in the New Context and the Commemorative Gathering for the 26th Anniversary of the UNESCO inscription of Hội An and Mỹ Sơn will take place at Sông Hoài Square. These events honor the steadfast efforts of authorities, local communities, and international partners in safeguarding and promoting heritage values. Notably, free admission to Hội An Ancient Town will be offered on this day as a gesture of appreciation to residents and visitors.
The program will conclude on 07 December with a cultural night titled “The Art of Bài Chòi in Hội An - a Journey of Preservation and Promotion”, where artisans, researchers, and the public come together to celebrate one of Central Vietnam’s most distinctive intangible cultural traditions.
With a spirit of honoring the past, nurturing the present, and looking toward the future, the 2025 Heritage Celebration reaffirms Hội An as not only a living heritage of Vietnam but also a vibrant cultural space of creativity and community stewardship, where tangible and intangible heritage continue to thrive as shared values of humanity.
