Hanoi is ranked sixth, while Hoi An in Quang Nam Province was jointly rated seventh, according to votes by millions of voters in the poll organised by the magazine which is regarded as a leading authority on the regional travel industry.

The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi and the Nam Hai in Hoi An shared top billing as Asia’s best leisure properties for 2011.

The destination shortlist was compiled by travel journalists.
