On October 31, 2023, Hội An joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Crafts and Folk Art. This is considered one of the significant achievements in the city's historical, cultural and social development; a recognition of the city's ongoing journey of pioneering spirit; “openness”; and the innovation of a “global city” since the late 16th century, when it was one of Southeast Asia's busiest trading ports.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has long been a vital part of the cultural and spiritual lives of Hội An people. It is also known as the Children's Festival or the Reunion Festival because family members will gather around the Mid-Autumn Festival tray to watch the moon, eat mooncakes, enjoy tea, and share daily stories. What a warm and love-filled reunion!
