In order to help Hoian people and tourists enjoy Tan Mao traditional TET 2011, the 3rd Hoian Lantern Festival – 2010 will be held f-rom evening February 02,2011( the last night of Tiger year) to February 16, 2011( 14th of the 1st lunar month- Cat year). The Lantern Festival will be held through Artistic and Trading lanterns Competition, Lanterns Installing Art showed on Hoai River, in the ancient town and An Hoi Statue Garden. Also in An Hoi Statue Garden, Hoian and Duy Xuyen bonsais, pets will be displayed and Folk games, traditional music shows will be held in this time.
In the exciting atmosphere of traditional Tet, f-rom Jannuary 25, 2011 to February 02, 2011( 1 week before Tet ), Hoian people and tourists could enjoy Spring Flowers market at Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Hue streets.
The 2nd Tet cakes Festival for the Poor will be held on 02 nights: January 31, 2011 and February 01,2011( 28th, 29th of the last lunar month- Tiger year) at 01 Nguyen Truong To street- Hoian. Besides making cylindric sticky rice cakes, sticky scroll cakes, giving Tet gifts for the Poor, the festival is also included making coconut and ginger jams competition. In 2011, entertainment points will be organized at Hoian Museum of History and Culture Courtyard to welcome new year and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hoi An – Thanh Hoa Friendship together with activities of magazines and pictures exhibition, documental films show and modern games. On February 08, 2011( 6th of the 1st lunar month- Cat year), the 1st Tet tree planting Festival will be held in the whole city. F-rom Feb 01 to Feb 17, 2011 Hoi an Mass Arts Team will organize musical and informational programme together with musical Competition for Cultural Wards and Communes, young singers and groups to serve people in the remote areas.
Especially, on the last night of Tiger year, New Year Eve Welcoming Cat year 2011 Festival ( February 02, 2011) will be held with variety programme as New Spring welcoming songs and fireworks Performance at 03 Points: An Hoi Statue Garden, Tan Hiep Dock Brigde and Phuoc Trach Brigde.
