More than just a famous cultural and tourist destination, Hội An is a true melting pot of culture and creativity. The city’s rich diversity has fostered a vibrant and unique cultural landscape, where traditional and contemporary values are preserved, celebrated, and harmoniously intertwined. This dynamic cultural environment has made Hội An a thriving creative hub, attracting artists and innovators alike. This reputation is further solidified by the city’s role as the host of the Vietnam International Choir Competition for the eighth time, along with numerous other cultural and artistic events.
Hội An is also blessed with exceptional natural beauty and sustainable biodiversity conservation. The Cù Lao Chàm - Hội An is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, while An Bàng Beach has been recognized by CNN as one of the world’s most pristine beaches. The Bảy Mẫu Nipa Palm Site has been named a top Asia-Pacific tourist destination by UNESCO, and Trà Quế Vegetable Village has been designated as the Best Tourism Village 2024 by the UN Tourism. Combined with the city's vast river systems, lush fields, and fertile land, Hội An offers a breathtaking natural landscape that captivates all who visit.
Preserving its old-world charm, Hội An retains the essence of an ancient urban architectural complex with moss-covered rooftops, narrow poetic alleys, centuries-old houses, and the enchanting glow of lantern-lit streets at night. Long-standing traditions, religious practices, and cultural customs continue to be cherished and passed down through generations. The city's integration of international cultural influences, combined with the creativity, sincerity, and hospitality of its people, has created a truly distinctive identity that makes Hội An shine even brighter.
Throughout history, Hội An has also nurtured traditional craft villages, such as Kim Bồng Carpentry Village, Thanh Hà Pottery Village, Trà Quế Vegetable Village, Cẩm Thanh bamboo and rattan craft, and the art of making lanterns. After a day’s hard work, the people of Hội An have long embraced artistic expression through folk songs, poetic chants, and traditional performances like Bài Chòi, enriching both their spiritual and cultural lives.
Hội An is also a paradise for food lovers. Its cuisine reflects a deep culinary culture, blending creativity with the wisdom of generations past. Dishes such as Tam Hữu, Quảng noodles, Cao Lầu, Bánh Bèo (water fern cake), Bánh Đậu Xanh (mung bean cake),… showcase a perfect harmony of flavors, fresh local ingredients, and time-honored cooking techniques.\
With such cultural and creative assets, Hội An has proudly joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Crafts and Folk Art. As a hub of cultural exchange and artistic inspiration, Hội An welcomes the world to the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition in 2025. This event will be a celebration of music as a bridge that connects creativity, passion for music, and friendship among people from all corners of the world. Choirs and artists will gather here to compete, connect, and immerse themselves in the city’s rich cultural heritage while sharing their voices in harmony.
