Grammy Award-Winning Pacific Boychoir Academy's Concert, Hoi An city

On July 14, the Grammy award winning Pacific Boychoir Academy (PBA) will perform outdoors in Hoi An – a part of their Vietnam and Singapore tour f-rom July 9 to July 21 (Free entry).


 
PBA is one of seven choirs of the Pacific Boychoir Academy (California, USA). PBA has become known as one of the top boy choirs  in the world, known for its rich sound, musicianship, phrasing, and talented soloists.
PBA has appeared frequently with the San Francisco Symphony (SFS), and has three Grammy awards for SFS recordings, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas. Other conductors for whom the boys have sung include Kurt Masur, Gustavo Dudamel, Robert Spano, David Robertson, James Conlon, C-harles Dutoit, Herbert Blomstedt, Donato Cabrera, Don Davis, and Vance George.
 
PBA will perform in Hoi An with various types of music, f-rom Classical music (Ave Maria -Franz Schubert, Laudate Pueri - Felix Mendelssonhn, Glori (F-rom Heiligmesse) - Joseph Haydn,..) to Pop music  (The Man Who Sold the World - David Bowie, Sweet Dreams- Annie Lennox, arr. Deke Sharon, All You Need is love -Lennon/McCartney arr. K Fox and Vietnamese folk songs (Trong Com, Bac Kim Thang) as well.…. Hoi An art perf-roming group will also join with the Pacific Boychoir with dances and  traditional instrumental performance.
In addition, the 4th Vietnam International Choir Competition which is co-organized by Hoi An city government and INTERKULTUR Organization (Germany) will take place f-rom April 29 to May 3, 2015 in Hoi An city. And the PBA’s concert itself plays an important role to promote the upcoming choir competition to international friends.
